Care tips

So your sofa stays like new

With the right care measures, your sofa will remain a reliable companion and will continue to impress with its comfort and design. Whether leather or fabric – every material has special requirements to keep it in top condition. Our tips will help you to extend the life of your piece of furniture and preserve its charm.

General care tips for upholstered furniture

  • Vacuum regularly: Remove dust and crumbs using a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment. Take care not to damage the upholstery by using a low suction power.
  • Avoid pressure points: Furniture should be repositioned regularly to avoid marks from heavy objects or decorations.
  • Optimum humidity: Ensure a room humidity of between 40 – 60 % to protect the material from drying out or mold growth.

Care of fabric covers

  • Stain removal: Dab off liquids with a clean cloth without rubbing. Then use a suitable textile cleaning agent.
  • Protection from sunlight: Direct UV radiation can fade colors. Place your sofa as far away as possible from windows with strong sunlight.

Care of leather upholstery

  • Remove dust: Use a soft, dry cloth for regular cleaning. A slightly damp cloth can be helpful for heavier soiling.
  • Care products: Treat leather 1 – 2 times a year with special leather creams to keep it supple and protect it from drying out.
  • Stain treatment: Dab off stains immediately and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. If in doubt, we recommend products from specialists such as LCK.
